Antique serving plate/cake plate from Hotta Yu Shoten & Co. pottery of Japan. Features the company's mark: an H inside a cherry blossom. Handpainted and fired in their own kiln; the company closed in 1947. This plate showcases luminescent colors and beautiful hand-painting, including brush strokes that add to its charm. It has a unique floral design, with some petals in blue and gold, possibly symbolic. Minor utensil marks are visible (see photos). A piece of Japanese history.
